Professional History:  - 35 years experience in technical, project management and general management positions with EGS, John Campbell + Associates, Herzog Associates Napa, Hallenbeck and Associates;  Terrasearch, Inc., U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and McDowell Smith and Associates.

 

Fields of Expertise: - Civil and geotechnical engineering for project planning, siting, design, evaluation, and environmental concerns.  Management for geotechnical and environmental technical services, fiscal planning and profit center operations, technical and staff, project management, client relations, proposals, engineering consultation for geotechnical and environmental investigations, preparation of reports and documents for evaluation, design, construction, and observation of construction projects.  Environmental experience includes: preliminary site assessments and preliminary environmental sampling for contamination; coordination of combined environmental, geo-hazards and geotechnical investigations; environmental project proposals, environmental work plans, monitoring well installation and sampling analysis.  Geotechnical engineering experience includes analysis of deep canyon fills, multi-story buildings, commercial, residential, and industrial parks, roadways, municipal complexes, prison and hospital facilities, recreational parks, ski areas, seismic safety studies, landslide investigations and mitigation, EIR preparation and review, geotechnical slope stability and hazards evaluations, fault location and seismic safety studies, utilizing computer modeling on numerous projects, and earthquake evaluation studies for insurance firms.  Expert witness studies and forensic testimony for geotechnical litigation involving earth and structural movement, floods, and earthquakes.  Clients include private developers, cities, municipal agencies, architects, engineers, insurance companies and legal firms.
