BACKGROUND

Environmental Geology Services (EGS) is a geoscience consulting firm established in 1991 by Marc W. Seeley, PG, REA-II. We provide responsive and cost-effective services in engineering and environmental geology, regulatory compliance, consulting, and claims management / cost recovery.

The principal consultant is Marc W. Seeley, with over 35 years experience in engineering geology, hydrogeology, environmental consulting, and project management. Mr. Seeley has an M.S. in Geology and is registered in California, Oregon, Nevada and Idaho.

His background includes geologic studies for:

  -  The Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline

  -  Nuclear Power Plant Siting Studies

  -  Seismic investigations for Large Dams in CA

EGS has also conducted numerous fault and landslide investigations, Phase I ESAs, Remedial Investigations / Feasibility Studies, and we have managed numerous case closures. Our associates have expertise in Environmental Science, Remediation, Geotechnical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry and Information Management. On all projects we strive to serve our clients' needs professionally, ethically, and efficiently.

ORGANIZATION

EGS is a sole proprietorship with our Principal Geologist directly involved in each project.  We assemble a project-specific team to best serve the needs of our clients

We provide only the level of technical expertise and manpower necessary for each individual project.  With this approach our clients receive the individualized service of an independent consultant, and the depth and support found with larger consulting firms (but without the associated layers of middle management and associated costs).

Our capable staff and associates provide full technical support, project management, permitting, regulatory interfacing, and claims management to keep projects on track, in compliance, and on budget.  Our full service project specific teams relieve the client of diverting their valuable manpower resources away from their work.

APPROACH

We develop and implement practical, timely, and cost-effective solutions for our Clients. Our philosophy is to provide comprehensive services that are practical, technically sound, and minimally disruptive.

Understanding our clients' goals, schedules, operating and manpower constraints, budget requirements, and risk management position, are all important elements in developing the approach best suited to each project.

We keep our clients informed throughout the course of a project. Working with the client as a team member characterizes our approach.

INSURANCE
PRACTICE AREAS

EGS maintains Medical Insurance, Disability, and Automobile Liability policies in compliance with current State standards.  We also maintain Professional Liability Insurance (E&O) and General Liability policies.

Policies are adjusted as needed to meet specific client or project needs.  Certificates of insurance are gladly issued to our clients on request.  When our clients require additional insurance or performance bonds, these are provided on an as-needed basis.
